"Niewiadomo Co" Cabaret - Bringing Laughter and Culture to Communities Across the U.S.
The “Niewiadomo Co” Cabaret was born in Chicago out of a desire to bring laughter to our fellow Polish immigrants living abroad.
We don’t give an exact founding year, because for many years we performed alongside various well-known cabaret stars from Poland who toured the United States. But let’s say 2015 marks the moment when we took the stage independently for our first show in front of the Chicago audience… and that’s when the avalanche began. After the success of that performance, we decided to continue. New sketches and parodies started to emerge, invitations from other states began to flow in, and soon the cabaret had loyal fans all the way in Florida.
The cabaret is made up of colorful characters such as Tosia Cebula, Maryśka Czubkowa, Rysia Wydra, Stanley Cucumber, and Zośka Wyzwolona. The troupe not only makes audiences laugh to tears, but also draws them into active participation during performances. Their themes come from the everyday lives of immigrants, as well as from American political events that inspire their humor.
The cabaret not only entertains—it brings Polish people together and strengthens community bonds.
It is the only cabaret of its kind in the entire United States.
